As is characteristic for this period, the head appears to be disproportionately large for the body, showcasing equally large features. A solid blue wig covers the woman's head and upper torso which frames and elegantly contrasts the cream colored face. A thick, heavily ornamented trim sits between the lappets of the wig while the exquisitely detailed broad collar arches gently below. Substantial areas of gesso and polychrome have been preserved throughout.
