Characteristic of Gandharan art of the period, the naturalistic depiction of the bare-chested Bodhisattva features a magnificent highly detailed necklace laid on top of a broad collar or torc.  Elegant monk's robes are gently draped over the shoulder while the delicately rendered folds of his dhoti cover the lower body. As discussed in more detail in the notes below, these soft, cascading pleats in the dress are directly inspired by the art and fashion of the ancient Greek world and the Hellenistic period.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"monumentgalleryla","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":67990543499516,"sku":"HQ.0138","price":12000.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0609\/7990\/4764\/files\/HQ.0138RE.jpg?v=1793589568","url":"https:\/\/monumentgalleryla.com\/products\/gandharan-schist-bust-of-a-bodhisattva","provider":"monumentgalleryla","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
