The features are composed with a remarkable restraint: nothing is exaggerated, yet the overall effect is one of considerable nobility and refinement.  The figure wears a beautifully executed Corinthian helmet pushed back high on the head, allowing the face and the voluminous curls to be fully revealed while the eye openings and crest attachment remain visible above the forehead.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe masterfully carved face displays a god like countenance with large eyes, drilled pupils, and heavy lids sitting below sharply defined brows that seamlessly transition into a narrow bridge and long, straight nose below. The mouth is small and finely drawn with full lips. Rather than conveying an overt smile, the slightly softened corners create what might be termed a quietly benevolent or sphinx-like expression.  The face is completed with smoothly modeled cheeks that taper gradually toward a slender, elegantly rounded jaw.  Particularly striking is the relationship between the smooth expanses of the face and the extraordinarily animated treatment of the hair. The densely clustered, serpentine curls framing the temples and descending toward the nape of the neck contrast with the polished planes of the forehead, cheeks, and jaw. This juxtaposition gives the head a distinctly sculptural vitality: the hair is luxuriant and almost Dionysiac in its movement, while the face itself remains composed and Apollonian.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn profile, the physiognomy is especially elegant. The straight nasal line, gently projecting lips, rounded chin, and long, clean contour of the jaw form a continuous, harmonious silhouette.
