Finely potted, this lovely skyphos stands on a small disc foot, with the bulbous body swelling upwards. Central figures on either side are framed by a band of dotted ovolo above and palmette complexes to either side beneath the handles. One one side, looking to the left, Dionysos stands in profile, nude but for a himation slung over his right arm, while holding a thyrsos. On the other side a draped maenad runs to the left, holding a wreath and a tambourine with a quartered ball in the field.
