A stunning glass juglet, boasting translucent hues of light green and yellow with copious amounts of pearl iridescence and an elegant, piriform silhouette. The vessel has a spherical body that tapers to a slender neck, culminating in a flared spout with a rolled rim and a delicate applied handle. Vessels of this shape and size were likely used as containers for unguents, oils, or perfumes.

Intact and in very fine condition. With light encrustations on the interior and small deposits around the neck and body. Brilliant, sparkling iridescence to the body, handle, neck, and rim. Despite the layers of patina this example retains a spectacular prismatic transparency.

The survival of this fragile glass seems nearly miraculous. Occasionally examples such as this, where the glass has reacted to burial, exhibit a shimmering iridescence that has long captivated the imagination of the most ardent collectors and artists.
